It's a bit late, but Happy New Year! I hope 2020 is gentle with you! I spent the Christmas holidays unwell. Cue tiny violins. All I could pretty much do was read and play Death Stranding, (although some days I was too dizzy to play - I *know*!) I also had weird semi-delirious panic episodes about work which culminated in me waking at 4am with a very clear idea of what I was going to concentrate on this year. Yay! I like a new year for a chance to reflect and move on.
Here's the last piece I made in 2019, which I'm delighted to report, found a new home as soon as I posted its picture. It is all handmade from ecosilver (recycled silver) with the pendant featuring a gorgeous Lightning Ridge opal, and a bold stripe of golden keum-boo.
The first piece I made in 2020 was a little unusual in that I did it with someone watching me. I was approached by a photojournalism student last year who wanted to do a small project on a maker. I agreed, and so horribly close to deadlines (again, thanks to being ill) we spent a day together whilst I made a silver & sapphire pendant and she filmed. I won't name her yet, as I hope to out her fully when I can post the result!
I didn't need to worry, it was all plain sailing, although obviously if you are going to drop a red-hot pendant on the floor or have a nightmare sildering chain links, it'll be when you have someone filming you. Or is that maybe just me....
I'm very much looking forward to time making this year, I've got some absolutely beautiful stones ready on my bench, and of course will keep you posted as to what I'm doing. In finishing, there is a whopping 40% off on selected items in my Etsy shop until the end of the month.
Take advantage of my weakened state and adorn yourself my beauties!
